In The Name Of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
As for those who have set up a mosque, causing harm and out of disbelief, to create division between the believers and in readiness for those who previously made war on Allah and His Messenger, they will swear, "We only desired the best." But Allah bears witness that they are truly liars. Do not ever stand in it. A mosque founded on fear of Allah from the first day has a greater right for you to stand in it. In it there are men who love to purify themselves. Allah loves those who purify themselves. Who is better: someone who founds his building on fear of Allah and His good pleasure, or someone who founds his building on the brink of a crumbling precipice so that it collapses with him into the Fire of Hell? Allah does not love wrongdoers. The buildings they have built will not cease to be a bone of contention in their hearts, until their hearts are cut to shreds. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (Surat at-Tawba, 107-110)
PREAMBLE
Following the events of Friday 14th January 2011 at Masjid Al-Tawhid, where leaflets were being distributed against the Khateeb, Dr Usama Hasan, this website was PREVIOUSLY created by an individual calling himself Abu Abdullah and representing the community of Leyton.
The original website contained an online petition seeking the removal of Dr Usama Hasan as the Khateeb as well as a list of accusations against him relating to his views on music, hijab and the theory of evolution.
Dr Usama Hasan took the bold step to address the community on Saturday 22nd January 2011 and clear a number of misconceptions which had been falsely attributed to him by Abu Abdullah and his supporters. This meeting, held at Masjid Al-Tawhid was attended by several hundred people from across London as well as the local community.
From the onset, the mood was hostile and as soon as Dr Usama Hasan began his presentation, a faction of the crowd stood up and began to shout and scream at him, demanding an answer on his views about evolution, creation of Adam (AS) and his parentage.
Heckling, abuse and insults flowed freely from the instigators in the audience and Dr Usama Hasan was never given the clear opportunity to convey his scientific thoughts about the subject.
A member from the audience, identified as Abu Zubair by one of his followers, approached the speaker and clearly spelt out, citing a fatwa that Dr Usama Hasan must be killed due to his beliefs and subsequently labelled him a Kaffir.
Needless to say, Dr Usama Hasan was never able to finish his presentation nor answer a number of questions that were put forward to him by genuine members of the audience who had come to listen to his clarifications.
Appalled at the scenes witnessed at the presentation, a large number of attendees realised that there was a hidden agenda behind this, perpetrated by individuals who were seeking the removal of Dr Usama Hasan based upon their own personal misgivings and jealousy, hiding behind their own imperfections and shortcomings, both in their dunya and their deen.
